One List of Search Results = One Algorithm

Matt Cutts released a video in response to a question as to whether or not Google uses different algorithms for different positions within the search results. As an example, the inquirer wanted to know if maybe the position three result would be ranked with a focus on freshness while a position seven result would be ranked for social signals. Cutts answered that the organic results are all generated using the same algorithm and then sorted according to factors such as relevancy, and reputation. One list of results = one algorithm.

So to keep your rankings where they should be, keep plugging away at the recommended best practices by producing high quality content, utilizing social media for traffic and reputation building, and maintaining a natural backlink profile.
