Use the 302 redirect when moving from a mobile specific to a
responsive design or dynamic serving design.

Google+ user, Alistair Lattimore asked if the recommendation was correct and Google confirmed that the recommendation was not a typo. It was made because 302 redirects imply that the move may not be permanent. The section on responsive site design can be accessed here.
