Google Shopping Tests a Filter to Boost In Store Visits


Google has been testing new filters for their Google Shopping PLA results and it could give brick and mortar stores a boost. The filters include Top Rated, a price qualifier such as Up to $150, and In-Store to reflect inventory of local stores. Clicking a filter takes the user to a list of Shopping results that meet the search criteria AND the suggested filter. First reported at Merkle, they provided this screenshot of a search for keurig coffee makers.

Testing seems to show that the filters show up when searching for a product without using superlatives like 'best'. You can read their report here.
