Mobile Friendly Pages Just Got Another Ranking Boost


As Google promised in March, the rankings boost for pages that have earned the label 'mobile-friendly' is now live. You can see which sites were hit the hardest by this shift here. And in case this update is news to you, here is a quick list of facts:

  • This is a page-by-page ranking signal - it is NOT site wide.

  • This has been rolled out internationally to all languages.

  • This is part of the algorithm so any changes you make to your site will go live as soon as your site is crawled next.

Remember, the intent of the search query is still a very strong signal -- so even if a page with high quality content is not mobile-friendly, it could still rank well if it has great, relevant content.
